Mr. Carl Richard Carr, 73, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his residence after a long battle with multiple myeloma. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. L.C. Harris officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home. Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emma O. Carr, of Jacksonville, Ala.; two sons, Tony (Johnnie) Carr, of Websters Chapel, Ala. and Stanley (Carla) Carr, of Jacksonville, Ala.; three grandsons, Heath Carr, Cameron Murray and Hunter Carr, all of Jacksonville, Ala.; one granddaughter, Caitlyn Carr Abernathy, of Websters Chapel, Ala.; three great-grandchildren, Landon Abernathy, Malley Abernathy and Calli Carr; one brother, Jimmy Carr, of Jacksonville, Ala.; one sister, Elwanda Whisenant, of Jacksonville, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and worked over 30 years at the Anniston Army Depot. He was a member of West Point Baptist Church and loved John Deere tractors, camping in the Smokies and his dog Daisey. A special thank you is extended to Alabama Hospice in Oxford, Ala. for their loving care and support. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Evelyn Carr; a brother, J.W. Carr.
