Funeral service for Mrs. Carol S. Giles, 60, will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, with the Rev. Royal Thomas officiating. Private burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Giles died on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, James Ray Giles, of Weaver; two daughters, Karrie (Richard) Knowlton, of Weaver and Tina E. Giles, of North Carolina; four sons, Martin J. Grifka, of Anniston, John A. (Gwyn) Grifka, of Michigan, James A. Giles, of Anniston and Stephen R. (Michelle) Giles, of Ft. Knox, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Corey M. Chappel, Michael Giles, Mya Morden, Richie Knowlton, Marissa Knowlton, Lilly Giles and Abbey Giles; two brothers, James (Monica) Baldwin, of Mississippi and Ronald (Karen) Baldwin, of Alabama; and nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Jeannette, Christopher, Marc, Melissa and Kelly. Mrs. Giles was a member of the American Legion Post 26 and the Moose Lodge #1669. She was preceded in death by her parents, LTC John A. Baldwin Jr., US Army Retired, and Kathryn Baldwin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, in C/O American Legion Post 26, P.O. Box 4158, Anniston, AL 36204.
