Funeral service for Mr. Carrall D. East Sr., 83, will be on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, located at 13019 County Road 19, Heflin, AL 36264. Pastor Donald Triplet and Pastor Larry Riddle will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home and also from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Mr. East passed away on June 6, 2017 at his home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Naomi East; children, Carrall D. East Jr. (Denise) and Cynthia Stephens (Blue); grandchildren, Chad East (Paula) and Chris East (Jessica); great- grandchildren, Madison East, Macey Mae East, Caroline East and Cade East; one great-grandson on the way; sister, Jean Williamson; a host of extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ollie East, and a brother, Thurman East. Mr. East was a member and deacon of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Cleburne County Baptist Association and was very active in charity and mission work. Mr. East thoroughly enjoyed working for others. He retired from Western Electric and AT&T. He was a proud Army veteran and also a member of Hartwell Masonic Lodge 101. He was an outdoorsman but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and family. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mr. East's caregiver and sitter, Brenda R. Wolf, and to Alacare Hospice for their love and care during this time.
