A memorial service for Carroll Kingsley Davie, 69, of Anniston, will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Carroll passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017. Carroll was born to the late Oliver and Frances Kingsley, of Ozark, on February 27, 1948. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1966. She then attended Troy University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education. Carroll loved being a teacher and taught 2nd grade in Selma for several years before moving to Anniston in 1972. Once in Anniston she worked as a psychometrist for the Anniston Mental Health Center. Carroll had a passion for helping people with learning disabilities and tutored many children in her spare time. Carroll was named Anniston's Woman of the Year in 1974, and in 1975 Carroll Davie and Robert Davie opened Davie's School Supply on Quintard Avenue. Forty-two years later, Davie's School Supply has two locations and employs her daughter, Caroline and son, Rob. Carroll had many loves, but Lake Guntersville weekends, keeping an immaculate yard, dancing to 50's and 60's music, traveling this beautiful country and being a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anniston were on the top of her list. Carroll had a contagious spirit, adoring smile, and deep love and commitment to her entire family and many friends. Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Caroline Davie; her son, Rob Davie (Kimberly); granddaughter, Anna Grace Davie; soon to be grandson, Tripp Davie; brother, Oliver Kingsley (Vandalyn); late sister-in-law, Sally Kingsley; nieces and nephews Amy Hayworth (Joel), Betsey Johns (Jonathan), Abby Kingsley and Ben Kingsley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Nutcracker Adopt-A-Student, P.O. Box 2501, Anniston, AL 36202. This program allows area First Grade children to attend The Knox Concert Series performances of The Nutcracker in December.
