A graveside service for Mrs. Catherine W. Love, 92, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Forestlawn Gardens. Mrs. Love passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Love was a native of Anniston and a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Anniston. She worked as a nurse for Dr. N.C. Denton for 25 years then went on to retire after working for the State of Alabama. Mrs. Love devoted her life to being a nurse. She also served as Chairperson of the Anniston City Planning Commission for many years. Mrs. Love is preceded in death by her parents, Hector and Gladys Whitley. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Mundy and her husband, Charles, of Anniston; grandchildren, Kathryn Maypole Dean and her husband, Brian and William Haven Maypole; great-grandchildren, Robert Franklin Allen, Thomas Hart Allen, Kelsey Elaine Maypole, William Haven Maypole, Julia Kathryn Maypole and Taylor Kay Maypole; a brother, Pat Whitley and his wife, Shirley, of Boston, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The League for Animal Welfare, 2726 Bynum Leatherwood Road, Anniston, AL 36201.
