Charles A. Ridgeway, 88, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 22, 2017, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He was born May 8, 1929 in Blue Mountain, Alabama, the son of Daniel and Lueanna (Dempsey) Ridgeway. Charles graduated from Anniston High School in 1947. He received his Bachelor's degree from Jacksonville (AL) State University and his Master's degree from South Dakota State University. Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army. He taught in the Ball State University Industry and Technology Department for 31 years, retiring in 2000. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Wilma Ridgeway; a sister, Evelyn Ridgeway, of Anniston; several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Anniston Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Buddy Nelson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home from 2 until 4 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2017, and one hour prior to service on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Ball State University Cardinal Varsity Club, Ball State University Foundation, 2800 W. Bethel Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304.
