A private memorial service for Mr. Charles D. Spurgeon, 83, will be held by the family at a later date. Mr. Spurgeon died on Tuesday August 4, 2015, at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Spurgeon is survived by two daughters, Gina (Dale) Seguin, of Jacksonville and Rene Dunaway, of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Kristy) Freeman, Kristy (Chad) Whitehurst, John David Dunaway, Tyrel Dunaway, Echo Dunaway, Sean Dunaway and Ethan Dunaway; four great- grandchildren, Blaine Sullenberger, Kale Sullenberger, Brody Freeman and Tabi Davidson; his two dogs, Annie and Kujo. Mr. Spurgeon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War Era. He loved Alabama football, NASCAR and animals of all kinds. Mr. Spurgeon was preceded in death by his parents, James Myron and Vera Eleanor Spurgeon; his sister, Juanzetta Gibbs. Online condolences to the family at: www.klbrownfuneralhome.com. K.L.
