Funeral service for Charles Edward "Ed" Lindsay, 88, of Oxford, will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. John White will be officiating. Entombment will follow at the Forestlawn Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:30 until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Lindsay passed away on Wednesday at St. Vincents St. Clair Hospital. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jimmie Black Lindsay; sons, Dennis Edward Lindsay and his wife, Kennette, Alan Lindsay, Keith Lindsay; grandchildren, Allison Lindsay Brown, Chris Lindsay and wife, Felicia, Stormy Lindsay and Chase Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob and Maddie; brothers and sisters, Earl Lindsay, Ann Spieth, and Elizabeth "Sis" North; many nieces and nephews; close friends " the wild bunch" and many camping buddies. Mr. Lindsay was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in World War II. He was a retiree of South Central Bell / ATT and a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Masonic Lodge 101 in Oxford, the East Alabama Shrine Club and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Oxford. Mr. Lindsay is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ollie and Ethel Lindsay; a brother, Raymond Lindsay. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Zamora Temple, Birmingham.
