Funeral service for Charles Frank Howell Sr., 86, will be Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Saccucci and the Rev. Winford Logan officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Howell passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his home. Survivors include wife of 38 years, Imogene Howell; one daughter, Shelia Saccucci Johnson (Don), of Piedmont; sons, Donald W. Howell (Cathy) and Charles "Chuck" Frank Howell, Jr. (Lucy), all of Piedmont; three stepsons, Ronnie Gallimore (Mary), of Ohio, Rick Hawkins (Tammy), of Piedmont and Charlie Fagan (Kay), of Piedmont; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Reeves; and special caregiver, Louise Upton. Pallbearers will be Ryan Saccucci, Don Johnson, Chris Hanson, Rick Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins and Larry Easterwood. Mr. Howell was a member of Daily Street Baptist Church, served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars and traveled the world. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his family, telling jokes and Christmas grab bags. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard D.
