A funeral service for Mr. Charles H. "Jackie" Tyler, 80, will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with ministers Allen Webster, Brandon Renfroe, and Chance Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Jacksonville from 12 - 2 p.m. Burial will be in Seven Springs Cemetery. Mr. Tyler died on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Piedmont Healthcare. Mr. Tyler is survived by his wife, Betty Carr Tyler, of Jacksonville; one daughter, Shelia (Dean) Haley, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one son, David E. Tyler, of Jacksonville; one sister, Martha Britt, of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Durrell (Martha) Tyler, of Birmingham, and Pat (Sandy) Tyler, of Crenshaw, Miss.; six grandchildren, Teddy Tyler, Lauren Haley, Christopher (Katie) Tyler, Justin Haley, Garrett Haley and Charles "Chase" Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Jovie Haley and Piper Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews, and his four-legged baby, Precious. Pallbearers will be Mr. Tyler's grandsons, his family members, and his friends. Mr. Tyler was a member of the Jacksonville Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Before moving to Jacksonville, he and his wife, Betty, lived in Clarksdale, Miss., for 38 years. Mr. Tyler retired from Coahoma Electric Power Association as an Electric Lineman Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed floating down the Buffalo River and also loved camping there. Mr. Tyler was a loving husband of 56 years, a devoted father, grandfather, and a faithful brother. His family was his passion and he always made sure he provided for them. Mr. Tyler's legacy will be carried on throughout his family for generations to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie E. and Martha F. Massey Tyler; and two sisters, Mildred Lovelace and Bennie Rainey. Online condolences to the family at: K.L.
