Christopher Allen Johnson, a native of Jacksonville, passed away in Salinas, Cali. on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the age of 30. Chris is survived by his son, Parker Allen Johnson; his mother and step-father, Myra and Daniel Leraaen; his father and step-mother, Terry and Patricia O'Malley Johnson; his girlfriend, Melissa Fink; his brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Mary Johnson; his grandparents, Harrell and Sally Johnson; numerous loving aunts, funny uncles, sweet cousins and a host of friends. Chris was preceded in death by his loving, maternal grandparents, Thomas and Lucille Allen. Born in Jacksonville on March 5, 1985, Chris graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2003. There, he was a standout baseball player and kept most classrooms laughing. He enlisted in the Army National Guard, completed basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. in 2007 and advanced training at Fort Gordon, Ga. later that year. Chris had a passion for sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football. His ability to make others laugh was without limit; his sense of humor and personality meant that Chris didn't know many strangers. However, his greatest passion in both this life and the next, is his son, Parker. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville, with the Rev. Rickey Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 this evening. Pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Trevor Darnall, Russell Johnson, James Johnson and Chase Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Laura Curry, Sommer Johnson, Kylee Williams, Aidan Johnson, Luke Johnson, Colt Curry, Austin Johnson, Lauren Johnson and the 2003 Jacksonville High School baseball team. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Jacksonville High School Baseball, 1000 George Douthit Drive SW, Jacksonville, AL 36265 or to Our Father's Arms, P.O.
