On November 30, 2017, at the age of 103, Claudia Honeycutt Leslie - wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep. Claudia will forever be remembered by her family as a strong Christian lady who loved the Lord and served him as long as she was physically able. She was a faithful prayer warrior and spent much time praying for all her family and friends. Claudia was born in Anniston, Alabama, and lived most of her life in Calhoun County. She enjoyed being a homemaker and serving her family. She was an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church for over forty years, during which time she taught a ladies Sunday School class and many women's small group studies. She is survived by her son, Gene Leslie of El Cajon, CA, daughters Ann Espy (Tom) of Memphis, TN, and Carol Haynes (David) of Oxford, AL, sister Bernice "Pete" Johnson, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great- grandchildren one great- great- grandchild, many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Vining Leslie, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church with Dr. David Haynes officiating. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Terry Espy, Todd Espy, Chuck Leslie, Nathan Haynes, Andrew Haynes, and Jordan Haynes. Burial will follow in Coldwater Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home. The Leslie family would like to thank Michelle Jones, Helen Railey, Evelyn Dutton, and Roxie Copeland for their dedicated and loving care of Mrs. Leslie.
