Funeral Service for Cliveia Hughes Champion, 93, will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Sunny Eve Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Lipscomb and the Rev. Wayne Eden will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Miller Funeral Home. Mrs. Champion died Saturday at her residence. Survivors include her sons, Harris Ray Champion (Louise) and Timothy Gregory Champion; daughter, Kathy Rebecca Kirby (Clay); son-in-law, Jessie Thompson; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mark Champion, Ray Champion, Nicolas McClean, Danny Thompson, Todd Tanner, and Alan Petty. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cleve Hughes and Venard Hughes. Mrs. Champion was retired from Anniston Army Depot. She was a fifty plus year member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Champion was a longtime member of Sunny Eve Baptist Church and current member of formerly Blue Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Champion was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harris Champion; daughter, Jeannie Champion Thompson and granddaughter, Amanda Kayleen Reed.
