A celebration of Life Service for Clyde Edward Braxton, 92, of Anniston will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm, at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston with the Rev. Mac Amis, Rev, Billy Wayne Morris and Rev. Bill Golden officiating. Burial will be at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the Parker Memorial Parlor. Mr. Braxton passed away Saturday, October 14th, at NHC Healthcare. Survivors include: son, Terry Braxton (Leigh) of Anniston and Mike Braxton of Oxford; grandchildren, John Braxton (Lesley), Clay Braxton, Stacie Braxton and Kyle Braxton (Natalie); four great grandchildren, Jeb Braxton, Avery Braxton, Hudson Braxton and Nash Braxton; brother, W.C. Braxton (Carol); sister, Joyce Piper and numerous nieces and nephews. The family acknowledges and gives special thanks and love to caregiver, Barbara Beason. Special thanks is given to the entire staff at NHC Healthcare and Alacare Hospice for their care and compassion. Mr. Baxton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Jewell Lorene Lambert Braxton who passed away on Friday, October 13th. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mable Braxton; brothers, Norman Braxton, Wayne Braxton; and sister, Frances Youngerman. Pallbearers will be John Braxton, Clay Braxton, Kyle Braxton, David Hall, Ronnie Hall, Ray Hanson, Curt Piper and Paul Braxton. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. Mr. Braxton was born in Evergreen (Conecuh County), Alabama and lived in Anniston most of his life. He was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church where he was a member of the Street Sunday School Class. Previously he was a member of Glen Addie Baptist Church. Mr. Braxton was retired from Interstate Roofing & sheet Metal Company after 36 years of service. He was a Mason and member of Saint Johns Lodge 931 F&AM. He was an avid outdoorsman. He and his wife enjoyed traveling across the country with family and friends. He loved spending time at the family farm in Cleburne County.
