Mrs. Coleen Wortman Grumley, 84, died on March 28, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Fred; her 49 year old son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Kimberly; grandson, William; niece, Caroline Moellering, and her children, Fiona Gallagher, Fenton Gallagher, Sadie Gallagher, and nephew, David Moellering. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Robert Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and hold a reception following the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Edward and Wileta Emery Wortman; sister, Carol Moellering, and brother-in-law, Alfred Moellering, of Ft Wayne, Ind. Coleen was born March 7, 1933 in Decatur, Ind. She grew up in Middle Point, Ohio and was a graduate of Van Wert High School. She went on to Columbus, Ohio where she earned a BS in Music Education from Capital University. It was there she met her husband. As her husband went to graduate school, Coleen became one of the best band directors ever. She started programs at many schools and every student she knew loved her. She inspired them to perform at their highest level. Coleen and her husband lived in Jacksonville for almost 30 years with their son, Scott. They were members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. For some of those years, Coleen was choir director and on the Vestry.
