Memorial service for Mr. Cory James Brown, 32, formally of Holgate, Ohio, will be today, November 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Father Bryan officiating. Cory passed away on November 12, 2014 at UAB. He is survived by his wife, Brandae Brown; daughters, Abonie Mary Brown, Jaylynn Rose Brown, Aubrey Sue Brown; father, Larry Brown; mother, Kelly Tobias; step mother, Sharon Brown; brother, J. Rothman; sisters, Destry Rothman, Aime Brown; step sister, Danielle Aldrich; step brother, Cutler Batchelor; grandparents, Ernie and Sue Tobias; great- grandmother, Betty Felter; grandfather, Robert Brown; grandmother, Doris Brand; fur babies, Raina Lynn, Annie Mae, Nika Mylee; pet turtle, Scooter and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, nephews and friends that were like family. He is preceded in death by grandmother, Joann Brown and cousin, Dustin Brown. Cory was a loving and kind person. He loved being at the lake and fishing. Cory was a music fanatic and also loved cooking and crafting. He was a huge Notre Dame and Steelers football fan. He loved the state of Alabama and called it his "forever home". Cory was also a giving person and donated his organs after his death and because of that, five people now have another chance at life. Cory was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply and terribly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to ICU and chaplains at UAB for all of their love and support during this time. The family is accepting flowers, but donations may be made in his childrens' name at Alabama Teachers Credit Union.
