Graveside service for Coy D. "Buck" Bailey, 94, will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Cedarwood Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Dean officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mr. Bailey passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Bill Nichols' Veterans Home in Alexander City. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (husband, Gary) Nelson, of Roanoke; two grandsons, Jeffery Nelson and Chris Nelson; three great-grandsons, Rush, Reid and Ridge Nelson; one sister, Mildred Bonner, of Rock Mills; one brother, John Bailey, of Columbus, Ga. and several nieces and nephews. A Talladega County native, Mr. Bailey was born on August 29, 1919, the son of John Grover and Viola McElevy Bailey and lived most of his life in Rock Mills and Roanoke. He was a World War II Veteran of the Navy, a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church and was a salesman with Liberty National Insurance Company. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents.
