Hoover - Funeral services for Mr. Curtis J. Daniels, 93, of Hoover, formerly of Anniston, will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service today at the funeral home. Mr. Daniels passed away on July 2, 2013 in Hoover. Mr. Daniels honorably served his country in World War II as a machine gunner in the United States Marine Corps. He saw action at Tarawa and Saipan, and received the Purple Heart for injuries he suffered in a hand grenade attack while in a foxhole with a fellow Marine. Following the war, he attended and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Accounting and practiced in Anniston for over 50 years in an office in the Radio Building. He was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dessie Heathcock Daniels, of Hoover, formerly of Anniston; a daughter, Terry Lufkin and her husband, David; a son, Scott Daniels and his wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Jim Stagmeier, Kellie Ann Daniels, Alana Katherine Daniels, Ashley Kristeva Daniels, and Clay Daniels; and great-grandchildren, Emily Stagmeier, Parker Stagmeier, and John Stagmeier.
