Mr. Curtis Vaughn, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his residence. Funeral service was held 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ted Elrod and Tommy Price officiating; burial followed in Cherokee Memory Gardens. Pallbearers included, Kenneth "Buck" Johnson, Wayne Tumlin and Wade Tumlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry "Slim" Johnson, Donnie Garrett and Beans & Greens Breakfast Club. Survivors include his wife, Mischa Gibbs Vaughn; daughters, Barbara (Curtis) Summers, of Albertville and Teresa Vaughn, of Centre; sons, Michael (Melinda) Vaughn, Lee (Dianna) Vaughn and Shawn C. Vaughn, all of Centre; sister, Shirley Boman, of Centre; brother, Thomas Vaughn, of Haleyville; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vaughn was a native of Cherokee County, retired grocery store owner and school bus driver; the son of the late Lee Roy and Ethel Julie Weaver Vaughn and of the Baptist faith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Unit of Cherokee Health and Rehab or to or church of your choice. Perry Funeral Home Directing.
