The funeral service for Mrs. Darah Sanderson McCullough, 95, will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at noon at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Moulton Memory Gardens in Lawrence County. Mrs. McCullough passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McCullough was the wife of the late James Walter McCullough. She and Mr. McCullough owned and operated J.W. McCullough Gulf Oil Company in Oxford for many years. She is also preceded in death by her parents, W.P. and Katie Sanderson; four brothers, Lynn Sanderson, Lewis Sanderson, the Rev. Lee Sanderson and the Rev. Robert Sanderson. Mrs. McCullough was very active in her church, Golden Springs Baptist, having served on various committees. She taught an adult ladies Sunday School Class, worked in Bible School, was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, the Morning Missions Group and was a charter member of the prayer ministry. Survivors include one daughter, Jan McCullough Elliott and her husband, Lewis, of Anniston; one granddaughter, Allison Elliott Campbell and her husband, Dan; twin great-granddaughters, Reily and Samantha, all of Columbia, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Herman Sanderson, of Moulton and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be The Friendship and Grace Sunday School classes of Golden Springs Baptist Church.
