Weaver - Funeral services for David A. Russell, 67, will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Hollis Martin and the Rev. Jeanette Fisher officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time. Mr. Russell died Tuesday at NE AL Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Russell; daughters, Angie Cornelius (Bruce), MaryAnn Daniels (Billy) and Janet McCollough; grandchildren, Wes Cornelius (Megan), Shelby Cornelius (Matthew), Karra Daniels, Emily Daniels, Taylor McCollough, Chase McCollough, Ryan McCollough; furry companion, Dixie and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Pallbearers will be Wes Cornelius, Chase McCollough, Ryan McCollough, Ross Cash, Tommy Wiggington, Abby Brunner, Dave Byrd, Bill Lopez and Rodney Russell. Mr. Russell was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the Army National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a beloved father and grandfather and never met a stranger.
