Service for David Danford Sr., 61, will be Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Byran Watts and the Rev. Rickey Doyal officiating. Burial will follow at Hanks Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Danford passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, at UAB Hospital In Birmingham. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Debra Danford; his children, David Danford (Kasi), of Forney, Shawn Danford (Alice), of Jacksonville, Candida Morris (Jamie) and Ember Danford, all of Piedmont and Joanie Danford Burton (Jacob), of Glencoe; six grandchildren, Jonathon Danford, Hayley Wood, Aly Morris, Jaxon Morris, Alyssa Culberson and Garrett Danford; two great-grandchlldren, Brayleigh Danford and William Wood; four sisters-in-law, Joyce Barrett (Jimmy), Billie Rucker (Gene), Brenda Smith (Randy) and Bobbie Angle(Glenn); two lap dogs, Alex and Oaklee and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Nathon Roberts, Chuck Smith, Skip Chaney, Adam Barrett, Tom Whitley, Glenn Angle, Tom Hollingsworth and Landon Law. Honorary pallbearers will be James William Bennett, Gwen Welchard, Elmer Black and Robert Keahey. Mr. Danford was a lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Ministries where he had served as the music coordinator and was also past president of Carpenters For Jesus. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, was a great friend to many and loved sitting around and drinking coffee with friends. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Seth Danford and Wyatt Danford; his parents, Walter and Estelle Danford and one brother, Larry Danford. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
