Funeral service for David Lucas McKinney Jr., 78, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Clarence Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Jennifer Cemetery. Mr. McKinney passed away on January 28, 2014. A wake will be today 6-8 p.m. at Anniston Funeral Services. Mr. McKinney retired from U.S. Pipes and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, David Lee (Shelia) McKinney, of Weaver; daughters, Mattie (Isaiah) Riggins, Cathy (Victor) Jemison, all of Anniston, Joann (Earl) McRath, of Alexandria, Stephanie (Carlos) Kelley, of Atlanta, Ga.; stepchildren, Wanda Johnson, of Lexington, Ky. and Kenneth E. Johnson, of Bessemer; siblings, Esther M. Baker, of Munford, Lequrtha Westbrooks, of Heflin, Barbara Brown and Edna Embry, both of Talladega, Betty (Larry) Lane, Lille M. Pickett, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary A. (George) Ragland of, Gadsden; grandchildren, Jolitha, Datrica (Michael), Willie (Tamica), Kimberly, Tiajuana, Kareda, Devonta, Quintae, Brittany, Joshua and Chris; step-grandchildren, David, Robert and six others; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, David L. and Fannie Mae Groce McKinney; wife, Vivian McKinney; son, Stanley McKinney; siblings, Ruth Akles, Flora Johnson, William McKinney, Rufus McKinney.
