A Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass for Mr. David M. Henderson, 80, of Oxford, AL will be at 2 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Robert J. Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour on Thursday at the church. A Rosary Prayer will be held at 11:30 AM prior to the service. Mr. Henderson passed away on January 14, 2018 at UAB Hospital. Mr. Henderson was born in Jersey City, NJ. He moved to Alabama in 1970 with his family and retired with over 25 years as a Retail Manager for Kmart Corporation. Dave had just recently celebrated his 80th Birthday with a family party. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Henderson is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Annie Henderson, and two sisters, Margaret H. Barton and Susan H. Penucci. Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Henderson, of Oxford; daughters, Donna Henderson Smith and her husband, Paul Edward Smith of Oxford and Dorothy Henderson Boozer of Anniston; a son, David M. Henderson and his wife, Kelly Denise Henderson, of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Boozer of Charlotte, NC, Austin Edward Smith and his wife, Whitney Garrett Smith, of Atlanta, GA, Taylor Lee Smith of Dallas, TX, Evan Thomas Wellbrock of Hendersonville, TN, and Addison Eleanor Henderson of Hendersonville, TN; great grandchildren, Emmie Truitt and Alyssa Boozer, both of Helena, AL; several nieces and nephews; and many special "adopted" children and grandchildren as well as so many close and dear friends. Pallbearers will be Chris Boozer, Austin Smith, Taylor Smith, Evan Wellbrock, Kenny Steppe, and Roger Beal. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O.
