A celebration of life for David T. Johnson, 73, of Weaver, will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Benny Abney officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson died Saturday at RMC. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Johnson; daughter, Pam Joplin (Terry); son, Greg Johnson; grandchildren, Kelsey Martz (Matt), Kendall Johnson and Robby Joplin (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Luke, Eli and Jude Joplin and Karlie Martz; sisters, Avis Jones, Betty Gill (Lester) and Linda Sheets (Tommy); brother, William Johnson (Barbara); sister-in-law, Lynne Kemp (Mark). Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Myrtle Johnson; brothers, Thurman and Wayne Johnson and grandson, Austin Joplin. Pallbearers will be Terry Joplin, Mark Kemp, Matt Martz, Tommy Sheets, Larry Angles and Robby Joplin. Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He retired from Alacote Corporation. Mr. Johnson was an avid golfer and a big Alabama fan. Mr. Johnson loved his family and he was of the Baptist faith.
