Funeral service for Deacon Norvin Ervin, 66, will be on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at noon at the Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Ceary Embry, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Heflin Memorial Gardens. Deacon Ervin passed away on March 26, 2017. Deacon Ervin's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Ervin graduated from Cleburne County High School, he served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Benjamin Moore Paints of Illinois. He served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Male Choir member. Survivors include his sister, Mary A. Truss; sisters-in-law, Naurece Phillips, Maxine Ervin, Brenda Ervin and Beverly Ervin; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Thomas Ervin and Ruthie Burroughs; wife, Callie Hunt Ervin; brothers, Willie Earl Phillips, Thomas C.
