A Memorial Service for Mrs. Debra Maleport Byars Durbin, 60, of Anniston, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Debra passed away on December 28, 2018 in Panama City.
Debra was born in Sault St. Marie, Michigan and went on to graduate from Palmetto (FL) High School in 1976. She loved to spend time at the beach. That was her happy place. She also loved her numerous cats, travelling, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Debra was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church and occasionally served as a door greater.
Debra is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Black Arnold, and a step sister, Lynda Lee Kemp.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Eugene Durbin of Fultondale and Panama City Beach, FL; daughters, Summer Heard and her husband, Anthony Cole Heard, of Oxford, and Logan Byars of Oxford; grandchildren, Hayden McCauley Heard and Crimson Elise Heard; a step son, Christopher Tyler Durbin of Ashville; a step daughter, Lindsay Gillen of Austin, TX; her father, Donald Joseph Maleport of Sturgeon Bay, WI; a sister, Kelley Clifton of Birmingham; step sisters, Donna Arnold Pirkle of Irondale, Paula Arnold Dyer of Piedmont, Cathy Lynn Arnold of Baton Rouge, LA, and Mary Juliette Kemp of Peterborough, England; a step brother, Malcolm Thomas Kemp of Tallahassee, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials be made to The League for Animal Welfare, 2726 Bynum Leatherwood Rd, Anniston, AL 36201.
