Funeral services for Mrs. Debra Taber Carter, age 59, of Anniston, will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Brother Craig Young and Brother Kenny Nix will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on McIntosh Road in Oxford. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Carter passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 26, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Geraldine Taber; and her loving husband of 30 years, Gary Carter. Mrs. Carter was a native of the Anniston and Oxford area. She was a life-long member of Antioch Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. Survivors include her children, Shawn Carter, Todd Carter and his wife, Angela, and Elisha Bryant and her husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Alyssa Carter, Blakeley Wade, Kami Bryant and Addison Carter; sister, Pam Young; brother, Johnny Taber and his wife, Debra; sister, Tammy Beck and her husband, Randy; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jake Thrasher, Randy Beck, Mussey Mitchell, Ray Green, Phillip Tigue and Donald Wayne Jinks.
