Funeral ceremony for Mrs. Demris H. Brockmon-Mason, 92, (formerly of Hobson City) will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Welcome Chapel C.M.E. Church in Hobson City with the Rev. Eric Stamps, Pastor with Elder Lilly Rainey, officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. A wake will be held today from 6 - 7 p.m. at the chapel. Goodson Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Mason was a matron of the Aquila and Priscilla Chapter No.455 Eastern Star. Survivors include her step-children, Rudawson Mason Jr. (Dorothy), of Detroit, Mich, Betty Kenney, of Atlanta, Ga., Agnes Merchant, of Birmingham and Bertha James (Smith), of Birmingham; daughter-in-law, Margerite Adkins, of Southfield, Mich., and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. R.D. Mason; parents, Jeff and Lula Brockmon; step-children, William W. Mason, Minnie Jordan and Mae Kelley; siblings, George Brockmon (Hannah), Leonard Brockmon (Maurine) and Charles Brockmon (Willie M).
