Dennis Merrell Ledbetter, 57, died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at his residence in Heflin. He was born Sunday, February 14, 1960 and was the husband of Malinda Ledbetter. Surviving are daughters, Mekia (Joseph) McCormick and Crystal (Kelly) Smith; son, Brandon (Nikki) Ledbetter; brothers, Perry (Helen) Ledbetter and Steve (Tammie) Ledbetter; sister, Shirley (Johnny) Camp; grandchildren, Karis, Kaden, Addie, Hensley, Olivia and Branson, and fur baby, Meeko. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Ai Baptist Church located at 3079 County Road 62 Heflin, Alabama 36264 with the Rev. Donald Leggett, the Rev. Daryl Robinson and the Rev. Shane Leggett officiating. Interment will be in Ai Cemetery, Heflin. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, August 3, 2017, at Dryden Funeral Home, 1467 Almon St., Heflin. Pallbearers will be Mark Ledbetter, Joe Mullen, Michael Camp, Andrew Ledbetter, Jeremy Slaton, Cody Ledbetter, and Matt Waldrop. Mr. Ledbetter was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. He worked his lifelong career in the Logging Industry. Dennis was a loving husband, daddy, and paw-paw that will dearly be missed. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Edna Ledbetter; two sisters, Betty Joe Camp and Marilyn Slaton, and two brothers, Roger and Jimmy Ledbetter.
