Funeral service for Denzel Campbell, 93, will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1217 Lenlock Lane in Anniston, with Bishop Wallace Price officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Mr. Campbell died on Friday, December 25, 2015, at Gadsden RMC. He is survived by his daughter, Marla Dianne Campbell, of Piedmont; two sons, Denzel Wade Campbell and Eric Lynn Campbell, both of Ohatchee; one brother, Henry Y. "H.Y." Campbell, of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Campbell was active in his church and was a devoted and loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was a US Marine Corps and US Army veteran, faithfully serving his country for a total of 22 years before retiring. During Mr. Campbell's military career he served during the WWII, Vietnam and Korean War Eras. After his retirement he worked for Super Value and the Anniston Army Depot where he retired after nine years as a mechanic. Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Campbell; his son, Clarence Alton Campbell and three sisters, Dorothy Campbell Street, Cartnell Campbell Blackwell and Alma Campbell Howell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wendell Jensen and his family for their continued support and loving care in helping take care of Mr. Campbell over the years.
