Ohatchee - Funeral service for Mrs. Dinah Ray Horn Hudson, 81, of Ohatchee, will be at noon Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bowery Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 tonight, December 27, 2013, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Mrs. Hudson passed away Wednesday at her residence. Survivors include her daughters, Nina Hudson McGinnis (Steve) and Madge Hudson Sims (Skeeter), of Ohatchee; sister, Becky Horn Rogers, of Panama City Fla.; brother, Delwin Horn, of Luverne; grandchildren, April McGinnis Hathaway (Jonathan), Allen McGinnis (Alysson), Elizabeth Hudson, Chris Hudson, Maggie Sims, and Lanier Sims; great-grandchildren, Stevie McGinnis, Sawyer McGinnis, and Emma Hathaway. Mrs. Hudson is preceded in death by her husband, Allen R. Hudson; and son, Allen R. "Al" Hudson Jr.. Pallbearers will be Wade Weaver, Tim Weaver, Ray Horn, Josh Davis, Keith Williams, and John Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies 4 Sunday School class of Oak Bowery Baptist Church. Mrs. Hudson was a native of Luverne, Alabama. She was a member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church and actively involved at the Senior Center in Ohatchee. She was a graduate of Luverne High School in 1950, Carraway Methodist Nursing School in 1953, Jacksonville State University in 1972, and Medical College of Georgia in 1979. Mrs. Hudson taught nursing at Gadsden State University and Jacksonville State University, where she retired in 1989. She will be dearly loved and missed by her family and friends.
