Dona Doyal, 51, was healed Sunday, February 7, 2016. Dona is survived by her husband of 22 years, Donald T. Doyal; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Randall Bangs; grandchildren, Randa Bangs, Gracie Bangs, Sarah Bangs and Brianna Bangs; her mother, June Ivie; two sisters, Jana Kirkpatrick Beavers (Danny) and Rev. Dara Cole (John); chosen children, Ivy Hooper, Ashley Johnson, Justin Kirkpatrick, Josh Kirkpatrick, Nina Gouger, Ethan Gouger and Gavin Walker; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews. Dona was preceded in death by her father Leonard Ivie; grandparents, J.T. and Nina Kerr and Frank and Deola Ivie. Pallbearers will be Troy Steed, Ethan Gouger, Larry Doyal, Gavin Walker, Josh Kirkpatrick, Jim Rochelle and Mitch Viens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Plainview CHC and Nances Creek CHC. Dona was the former co-owner of the Flower Basket and was employed for Samuel J. Crawford, M.D. She also worked for Piedmont City Schools for six years. She was active in church activities including the youth departments and mission departments of Plainview CH Church and Nances Creek CH Church. Service will be Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dara Cole, the Rev. John Cole and the Rev. Greg Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Kerr Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Piedmont Rescue Squad, Kidney Foundation, Plainview Holiness Church, or Nances Creek Holiness Church.
