A memorial service with military honors for Donald Bruce Judd, 72, will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Winfred Logan with Gentiva Hospice officiating. Mr. Judd went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his home following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen I. Judd, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Deborah Judd (Bryan) Meadows, of Cropwell and Lisa Judd (Kevin) Penny, of Hazel Green, Ala.; a brother, Roy W. (Harlean) Judd Jr., of San Antonio, Fla.; two beloved grandsons, Nicholas R. Meadows and Riley J. Meadows; a cousin, Donna B. Moore, of Jacksonville; a niece, Suzanne Judd (Jack) Seitlinger, of Conn. and two cats, Frosty and Smokey. Mr. Judd received his B.S. degree in 1966 from the University of New Hampshire in Entomology. He worked extensively with all branches of the military in the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Defense field. He was the Project Manager for the move of the U.S. Army Chemical School from Ft. McClellan to Ft. Leonard Wood from 1996-1999. Mr. Judd retired as the Principal Research Scientist for Battelle. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville and served his country from 1969-1977 in the U.S. Army. The family wants to express a special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.
