Funeral service for Donald E. Brunson, 65, will be 12 noon, Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Brunson died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at RMC. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Diane Dean Brunson; son, Mike Brunson; granddaughter, Tori Brunson; brother, Gene Brunson; step-brother, Richard Irwin (Sheila); mother-in-law, Ester Dean; sister-in-law, Denise Morton; several nieces and one nephew. Mr. Brunson is preceded in death by his parents, Brooks Elliott and Lottie Mae Waters Brunson; sister-in-law, Sandra Brunson; brother-in-law, James Morton and father-in-law, Calvin Dean. Pallbearers will be Richard Irwin, Earle Honea, Bobby Wages, Marlin Wages, Trey Miller and Dennis Free. Mr. Brunson was a native of Augusta Ga. and lived most of his life in Oxford. He was a 1966 graduate of Wellborn High School and was employed by National Gypsum Company for 45 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
