Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel for Mr. Donald L. Geier, 91. The Reverend Mike Owens will officiate. Entombment will be in Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services. Mr. Geier died at Grandview Medical Center, Saturday, October 1, 2016. Mr. Geier retired from Union Foundry after 34 years of service. He was a veteran having served in The United States Navy aboard The U.S.S. Honolulu which was headed for the South Pacific when the war ended. He enjoyed bow hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Donette Geier; parents Louie C. and Lida V. Geier; sisters, Vaudrey Gaulding and Sara Anne Smith; brother, Jack Geier, and grandson, Jason Robinett. He is survived by his wife, Doris C. Geier; son, Donnie (Cheryl) Geier, of Jacksonville; twin brother, Ronald D. (Joyce) Geier, of Lincoln; sister, Joan Anderson, of Huntsville; granddaughter, Nicole Geier, of North Carolina; grandsons, Shane (Rachel) Robinett, of Weaver, and Bruce (Kayla) Geier; granddaughter-in-law, Lorinda Robinett, of Gadsden; one great- granddaughter; five great- grandsons; many nieces and nephews, and his best buds, Pepper and Rudy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leatherwood Baptist Church building fund.
