A private memorial service for SGM Donald Vernon Lowe, 80, U.S. Army Retired, will be held by the family at a later date. SGM Lowe died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Frances Jean Lowe, of Piedmont; one daughter, Donna Jean (Jimmy) Rose, of Morristown, Tenn.; two sons, Jeffrey (Judie) Lowe, of Columbus, Ga., and Donald Ray Lowe, of Piedmont; six grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; several nieces and nephews. SGM Lowe was of the Methodist faith. He retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of dedicated service, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour of duty during the Korean War Era. After retiring from the Army, SGM Lowe worked for Wal-Mart for 17 years, where he was a stocker and door greeter. Online condolences to the family at www.klbrownfuneralhome.com. K.L.
