A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Donna Kay Reaves Johnston, 63, will be held on today, January 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Tommy Reaves and Marlon Greenwood will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Johnston passed away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on January 2, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gerald Johnston, of Anniston; her daughter, Kelly (Jimmy) Hightower, of Columbus, Ga.; her son, Chad Johnston, of Augusta, Ga.; two grandsons, Tripp and David Hightower, of Columbus, Ga.; one brother, Tommy (Linda) Reaves, of Glencoe; one sister, Raffa Blackmon, of Anniston; a special great nephew, Brandon Reaves, of Anniston; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mrs. Johnston is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur "Bud" and Geneva Reaves, and one brother, Rev. Todd Reaves. Mrs. Johnston was a dedicated, lifelong member of Oakridge Baptist Church. She was a 1972 graduate of Saks High School and retired from Ft. McClellan. Pallbearers will be Brian Reaves, Micah Reaves, Brandon Reaves, Tommy Timmons, Steve Greenwood and Chris Creed.
