Jacksonville - Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Bussey Davis, 84, will be Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Mrs. Davis died on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at NHC in Anniston. She is survived by her husband, Edward Davis; her son, William E. "Bill" Bussey Jr. and his wife, Betty; two grandchildren, Hunter and Katelyn Bussey; two step-sons, Donnie Davis and his wife, Val, and Bobby Davis and his wife, Kathy; four step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be LaVaughn Johnson, Phil Bussey, Jeff Bussey, Gene Bussey, Marty Boyles and David Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies from the Gleaners Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Davis was a 1946 graduate of White Plains High School and worked in accounting at Fort McClellan for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Chester G. and Sudie Johnson Gidley; her first husband, William Edward "Boddie" Bussey Sr.; two daughters, Janice Bussey and Janet Denise Bussey; and her brother, Clois J.
