Anniston - Funeral services for Doris Key Shaddix, 81, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Butterworth officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Shaddix went to be with her Lord Thursday at Golden Living Center in Oxford. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Shaddix; her sons, Gary Key (Wanda), Jimmy Key (Chris), Robert Key (Pam), Ricky "Big Rick" Key and Tony Shaddix (Kathy) and daughter, Ramona Shaddix. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ada Messer Doster; son, Charlie Key, and brother, Richard Doster. Pallbearers will be Gary, Jimmy, Robert and "Big Rick" Key, John Thomas and Wayne Carroll. Mrs. Shaddix was a native of Calhoun County, a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Regional Medical Center after 30 years, most of that in the anesthesia department. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed very much. She loved her Savior beyond words. The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Living Center, Dr. Hanna, Life Choice Hospice and Alacare Hospice for their loving care and understanding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's Foundation, Life Choice Hospice or Alacare Hospice.
