The funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Robertson, 87, of Anniston, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Mrs. Robertson passed away on February 6, 2015 in Cumming, Ga. Mrs Robertson had retired from MetLife Insurance Company and from the office of Dr. Carla Thomas. She was a longtime substitute in Oxford Schools. She was also a faithful member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years where she also served as a senior adult Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Robertson enjoyed an active lifestyle of gardening, decorating, travel, visiting friends and family. Mrs. Robertson is survived by her children, Robbie McWhorter and her husband, Glyn, of Milton, Ga., Deborah Robertson, of Brookline, Mass., George Robertson and his wife, Nena, of Bellevue, Wash., Martha O'Dell and her husband, Frankie, of Oxford and Margaret Hall and her husband, Nathan, of Oxford; grandchildren, Justin and Gretchen McWhorter, Sean and Aimee McWhorter, Nathaniel McWhorter, Carrie and George Robertson, Jr., Alaina Robertson, Blake Robertson, Whitney and Will O'Dell, III, Kristen and Chris O'Dell, and Mallory Hall; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin McWhorter, Sean McWhorter, Nathaniel McWhorter, Will O'Dell, Chris O'Dell, and George Robertson.
