Piedmont - Doug Jones, 57, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at UAB Hospital. Services for Mr. Jones will be Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Blane Tidwell and the Rev. Kenneth Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Doug is survived by his wife, Dianne Jones; two sons, Jason Moore (Annette) and Robert Jones; one daughter, Erica Maxwell (Dylan), all of Piedmont; his parents, Ray and Eva Jones, of Piedmont; one sister, Susan Tidwell (Blane), of Piedmont; two brothers, Dennis Jones (Debra), of Hokes Bluff and David Jones (Debra), of Piedmont and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Rainey, Jerry Trammell, Phillip Winkles, Joey Williams, Shannon Hogue and Tim Bates. Honorary pallbearers will be the Piedmont Rescue Squad, the Piedmont Fire Department and the Piedmont Police Department. Doug was a member of the Piedmont Rescue Squad for 38 years and served on the Board of Directors. He was a former supervisor at Springs Industries where he worked for 25 years and was also a former police officer and volunteer fireman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Jones and nephew, Josh Jones. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O.
