Service for Doug "Duggo" McKinney, 60, will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 12 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry McGathy officiating. Burial will follow at Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 - 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. McKinney passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016. Survivors include his two sons, Tim McKinney (Julie) and Jimmy McKinney, all of Anniston; four grandchildren, Keaona, Karigan, Dalton, and Toby; one great- grandchild, Ally-Ann; mother, Dean Spurlin, of Anniston; four brothers, Edward McKinney (Twana), of Anniston, Terry McKinney (Debi), of Pell City, Clark McKinney (Jackie), of Georgia, and Mark McKinney (Kaye), of South Carolina; one sister, Dawn Hobbs (Jim), of Weaver, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ed McKinney, Clark McKinney, Trey Hobbs, Austin Hobbs, Lucky King, Jake Atkinson, Dennis Pontero, and Austin Kilgore. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark McKinney and Jim Hobbs. Mr. McKinney was a native and resident of Calhoun County most of his life and lived in the McIntosh area for the past five years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by father Edward McKinney; grandparents, R.O. and Bertie Austin; and step-father, Jessie Spurlin.
