A funeral service for Doyle Worth Nolan, 91, will be today April 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. David Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service on today. Mr. Nolan died on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Gadsden RMC. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Nolan, of Jacksonville; two sisters, LaMerle (Harold) Williams, of Anniston and Clara Ann (Sherrell) Parker, of Auburn; one sister-in-law, Euleda Johnson, of Jacksonville; two very special nieces, Lorena (Thomas) Badgett, of Jacksonville and Rheana Franklin, of Gainesville, Ga.; and several other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Mr. Nolan served his country during WWII and was a 1SG in the Army National Guard. He retired from Fort McClellan and was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. Mr. Nolan was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan and he loved traveling in his spare time. Mr. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Brice and Clara Maybell Nolan; three brothers, Walker, Lawrence and Hugh Nolan; and one sister, Melvalene Knight.
