Funeral services for D.R. Taylor, 92, of Anniston, will be 3 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory with David Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time. Mr. Taylor died Friday at his residence. He is survived by his son, Ricky W. Taylor, of Oxford, by his son-in-law, Billy Andrews, of Anniston; three brothers, Tommy Taylor, Nick Taylor and Billy Taylor; two sisters, Hilda Marie Fairbanks and Anne Crews; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Andrews, Marty Andrews, Donald Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Grant Taylor and Kyle Jackson. Rory Andrews will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Mr. Taylor was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Calhoun County most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II where he earned a Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mr Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Sexton Taylor; his parents, Dewey Raymond Taylor and Ruby Tom Dispain Taylor; his daughter, Jayne Andrews; son, Donald Max Taylor and by three sisters, Mary Hale, Jackie Wright and Sara Hardy.
