A private memorial service for Dr. William M. Lemon, 67, will be held at a later date. Dr. Lemon passed away on November 10, 2016 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Dr. Lemon was a native of Burlington, Iowa and moved to Quincy, Ill. and graduated from Quincy High School. He was a 1972 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropratic in Davenport, Iowa. He moved on to do postgraduate studies in Radiology at Cleveland College in California. He operated a private practice for 38 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves for four years as a Corpsman. Dr. Lemon served as president of the Missouri State Chiropratic Association from 1982-1983. He was instrumental in establishing the regulations for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners in Washington, D.C. He went on to establish Southeastern Seminars and would travel to teach other physicians the rules concerning medical regulations. He was also affiliated through the LSU Medical School through Southeastern Seminars. Dr. Lemon is preceded in death by his parents, William Loren Lemon and Virgina Lee McDermott Lemon, and a brother, Thomas Lemon. He is survived by his wife of over 34 years, Debbie Lemon, of Anniston; two daughters, Janet Wiles and her husband, Tommy, and their sons, Zach, Seth and Sean, all of Alabaster, Liz Greathouse and her husband, Paul, and their daughters, Caroline and Catherine, all of Auburn; a son, Will Lemon and his girlfriend, Amber, of Alabaster. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Elks Scholarship Foundation, Anniston Elks Lodge 189, 1019 South Noble Street, Anniston, AL 36201.
