The funeral service for Earl Junior Walton, 77, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Harvest Church of God in Golden Springs with Bishop Jerry Irwin, Bishop W.H. Ford, and the Reverend Don Maddox officiating. Burial will full military honors will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the church. Mr. Walton passed away on April 14, 2015. Mr. Walton was a native of West Virginia. He served for 23 years in the US Army and retired as a Sergeant First Class. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (4 campaigns), the Army Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palms, the Army Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After retiring from the Army, he went on to work for 17 years at the Anniston Army Depot as a turbine engine mechanic. He was a longtime member of Harvest Church of God. Mr. Walton is preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Walton; a sister, Willa Denise Sides; and two brothers, Albert Walton and John Walton. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Walton, of Anniston; daughters, Rose Steen (Robert), of Hartsville, S.C., Grace Pool, of Saks, Eloise Ginn (Daryl), of Oxford, and Wanda Pitts (Ronnie), of Oxford; sons, George Pierce (Vonda), of Oxford and Garvin Pierce, of Anniston; twelve grandchildren, Danielle Hall, Bogan Hall, Patrick Pool, Lee Pool, Matt Ginn, Amanda Pitts, Austin Pitts, Jason Pierce, Gary Pierce, Brandie Lytle, Candice Johnston, and Jodi Pierce; numerous great grandchildren; six sisters, Nellie Davis, of Roanoke, Va., Frances Wimmer (Charlie), of Phenix City, Ala., Patsy Walker. of Roanoke, Va., Ettabell Lundy, of Florida, Lula Akers, and Connie Luzier; and his brothers, Darrell Walton, of Ohio, and Ronnie Lee Walton.
