Funeral service for Mr. Edd Solomon Prickett Jr., 96, of will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church at Wellington with the Rev. Harry Skaggs officiating with burial to follow at Union United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation will be today February 10, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church. Edd passed on Monday, February 8, 2016 at his home in Wellington. Edd is survived by his wife of 74 years, Vivian Prickett; daughter, Brenda Prickett (Deral) Rhodes; sister, Sarah Williamson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved church family of Union; caregivers, Anna Poole, Dayna Kent and Donna McLeod. Pallbearers will be Joel Prickett, Butch Haver, Johnny Bryant, Joe Prickett, Glenn Pruitt, Chris Williamson, Richard Prickett, Terry Killingsworth, David Bryant and Bobby Noah. Edd is preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Joyce Prickett; three brothers and three sisters. Edd was a member of Union United Methodist since his youth. He served as Treasurer for 26 years. He was retired from the Anniston Army Depot with 30 years of service. He was Chief of Quality Control Division. He and his wife were charter members of the Cheaha Chapter of the Ex-POWs of World War II. He served with the 630th tank destroyer Battalion during WWII.
