Funeral service for Eddie Lewis Thomas, 69, will be on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Frederick Allen as officiating pastor and the Rev. Charles E. Burton Sr. as eulogist. Interment with military honors will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mr. Thomas passed away on January 16, 2016 at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Thomas's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Thomas graduated in 1964 from Calhoun County Training School. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Chrysler Auto in Detroit and from Anniston Army Depot. Survivors include his wife, Melody Thomas; his children, Michael (Lenise) Thomas, Dwight Thomas, Warren (Victoria) Thomas, Keith Mwrick, Corey Jackson, Starlett Tignor and Melanie (Darrell) Mclester; siblings, Walter Thomas, Lynwood Hawkins, Ray (Lisa) Thomas, Michael (Yvonne) Thomas, Jerry (Shirley) Thomas, Patricia (Rev. Kenneth E.) Moore, Sarah (Adair) Ambus, Fannie (Christopher) Moore and Dicie Lorenzo; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; in-laws; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Phillip Thomas Sr. and Amanda Kirk Hawkins; daughter, Bronya Tignor; brothers, Jimmy Thomas and John Thomas, Jr. Anniston Funeral Service Rev. Jeffrey C.
