Funeral service for Edith Mackey Parker, 66, will be on Saturday August 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church where the Rev. Dennis McKinney, pastor and the Rev. Frederick Durant, eulogist. Interment will follow in Hobson City Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Parker passed away on July 24, 2015 at Regional Medical Center. A wake will be this evening 6-8 p.m. at the Russell H. Williams Chapel. Mrs. Parker's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Mrs. Edith graduated from Calhoun County Training School in 1967. Survivors include her children, Latonya Andrews (Orlando Watters), Tomeka Mackey, Arrington J. Mackey (Toni) and Bakari D. Mackey; grandchildren, Vonteria Mackey, Broderick Mackey, Chaquerian Mackey, Tymeria Mackey, Jachea Smith, Qwante Huggins, Tehkyia Smith, M'Qayle Mackey, M'Qeria Mackey, M'Qari Mackey; great-grandchildren, Jordan Mackey, Jaylen Mackey, Jaleya Mackey, Keaton Mackey, Ke'Ari Thomas; sisters, Emily Mackey and Cynthia Shorter (Reno); stepchildren, Edith Hawkins, Arrington Parker (Rosalind), Melvin Parker; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Charlcie Mackey; husband, Arrington R. Parker; brothers, Fred L. Mackey, Charles E. Mackey and Kennyth Mackey; grandson, Tyrique Mackey.
